Join us on on February 26th to celebrate ‘We Grow Up’s 3 year anniversary of our first gig (incidentally also at the Jade Monkey with Jon Marco (The Honey Pies)).

Who the hell is going to miss a night with us, The Honey Pies AND The Keepsakes? Not me, and not you either if you know what’s good for ya…

Acoustic Show At Rhino Room January 15th!

Hey y’all,

This Friday 15th of January we’ll be hitting the Rhino Room with two other amazing bands playing acoustic sets that will shock and amaze! Starting at 9pm with The Honey Pies and Humble Bee, it will be the greatest night ever… fact.

In other news, we’ll be heading over to Sydney in February to Big Jesus Burger studios to mix 2 tracks for a double A-side single that we’ll release soon after. Soon after that we’ll have the album finished and can release the beast mid year!

Hey yo!

We finally have our full band up and running, with Walter (the founding member of awesome folky pop band Tantivy Fair) joining us recently on guitar. We’ll be playing our first show with him next thursday (29th) at the Ed Castle. See our gig page for details

Whether you like it or not, geeks pretty much rule the world these days and now’s the time to celebrate. As part of the Coopers Alive ‘09 Festival, Rhino Room is to host a night of old-school gaming, bubbles, colour, accurate grammar, double happiness and an inflatable pony. Featuring Adelaide’s finest geek pop bands We Grow Up, Radio Spectacular!!! and The British Robots this night is surely destined to be the pop bonanza of the year! The first 50 punters through the doors will also receive a free goodie bag with plenty of little surprises inside. So let your inner geek run wild and free at the Rhino Room on Fri Oct 16th. Doors at 10, entry is $10.

We Grow Up Radio Interview And Live Recording!!

Hey folks,

We Grow Up recently visited Radio Adelaide as part of their ‘Live Music Fest’ for 2009. While we were there we played a bunch of songs and recorded an interview.

They have put up the interview as well as our performance of a new songs called ‘Goodness Gracious!’ on their website at this address(we’re the fourth band from the bottom of the page).

Hey folks, We Grow Up have two shows scheduled for September. The first of which is on Tuesday the 8th… a free gig at The Governor Hindmarsh, on their upstairs balcony stage with good friends The British Robots. This gig will start with us playing at 8.30 on the dot, so come along and enjoy a good night of awesomeness.

Our 2nd September gig will be on Sunday the 13th at the Crown and Anchor. This event is being held to raise money for Heart Kids SA. The show will kick off at 5:15 (with us playing first) and will finish at 9:00pm. We will be one of 4 local bands donating their time to this worthy cause. $5 entry (somebody please think of the children!).

Jon Solo Gig Tonight (Sunday 2nd Of August) At Higher Ground

Hey folks,

Jon here.

For those who enjoy seeing me uncomfortable and out of my element, please come along to my early gig tonight at Higher Ground (the place near light square in the city)

I’m not 100% percent sure what I’m playing yet, but I’ll probably do a new song called ‘Goodness Gracious!’ which I’m pretty proud of… plus I might attempt a cover of ‘Rocky Raccoon’ by the Beatles…. you can watch me mess up the lyrics.

I’ll be on early in the evening at around 5pm, and there is a $5 door charge.

We Grow Up Touring Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane

That’s right. We Grow Up will be touring the Eastern States for the very first time, along with good friends, The British Robots in June. We will be playing in Melbourne on the 11th, Sydney on the 12th, and Brisbane on the 13th. we will then be finishing the tour with a gig back on Adelaide on the 20th. Details of venues, times, and supports can be found at our gig page.

We have dubbed this our ‘Stimulus Package tour of the Eastern states’ since we’re paying for with money received from Kevin 07’s recent cash handouts.
